I think it’s those who would rather miss a movie they wanted to see because they couldn’t get someone to go with them instead of going by themselves who are the “losers”. There’s a bizarre obsession among the majority with having someone you know sit quietly (hopefully) next to you in the dark for two hours, as if watching a movie requires group participation or something. There’s obviously nothing wrong with going to the movies with friends, it can make the experience all the better, but why do so many feel like it’s a must?

To go even broader, why would anyone want to rely on others to make them happy instead of just doing what makes them happy? The inability to do things by yourself for yourself is just as bad as the inability to interact with others.
