It’s been a long, long time in the making but my blog finally has a new design! The old design was basically just a heavily customized version of a standard theme, so this is really the first proper design I’ve done for my blog and it’s way, way overdue. Anyway, if you’re reading this on the Tumblr dashboard or through the RSS feed, please do go and have a look.
The design may look simple, but figuring out how I wanted it all to come together took an almost ridiculously long time. I don’t remember who said it, but simple is hard and it really is. I believe this final design is the fifth major version I made, and that includes a fourth version that was 99% done, designed and coded before I decided to scrap it and start over. I may tinker with and tweak things in the coming days/weeks since you never really know until it goes live, but I couldn’t be happier to finally get it up and running.
I also have a new logo for myself. Goodbye snowflake, hello abstract! Even though I loved the snowflake, it was time for a change, and though the new logo nearly breaks all the rules I generally go by when I design a logo, I just couldn’t resist it. But more on the topic of logotypes some other time.
