“This is a big surprise. I don’t agree with the concept of award ceremonies, but...”

Flickfindr →
A handy little site to have bookmarked for those times you come across someone linking directly to a photo on Flickr and not its photo page. Just enter the url of the photo, hit go and there you are. For example, turn a dead end like this into this.

A Movie Rant: in 3D ($5 Surcharge)
I’m going to rant now, so don’t say I didn’t warn you. I tend to go to the movies on weekdays because I can use a discount card that gives me tickets to four movies at half price (plus the price of the card). I get the convenience of less crowds, and at a lesser price. All is good, or at least it was until Sweden’s dominant movie theater chain decided that 3D films from...

A Nice Cup of Tea →
George Orwell’s eleven rules for making tea. Yes, that George Orwell. I’m not a tea snob in the slightest, I’m mainly posting this because I found it really amusing in all its meticulous, pedantic glory. It comes off as very British. Which it is, of course.

Abolishing Film Censorship
In stark contrast with the death grip the MPAA has over what Americans can and can’t see in movie theaters, Sweden abolished film censorship on January 1st, 2011. Distributors now have the choice of either releasing a film without submitting it for classification, which automatically gives the film a 15 rating (ages 15 or older, the strictest rating), or they can submit it to the...

Re: Polaroid
Regarding my post yesterday about Polaroid, kerichau pointed out that there already is a Polaroid app for iPhone, although it seems to be a third party developer that has simply licensed the Polaroid name/logo. Looking it up on the iTunes store, I found that there are actually two apps bearing the Polaroid name. Judging by how few (and negative) the reviews were though, it seems the developers...

Polaroid Doesn't Get Its Appeal
Last week Polaroid along with their new “creative director” Lady Gaga introduced some new products and it couldn’t have been more disappointing. They didn’t even introduce any really new product (ignoring those ridiculous glasses that only Kanye West and Lady Gaga herself would wear). They announced a portable printer, which isn’t too different from one they already...
